Yarn Buddies

I made these Yarn Buddies with Conner on Good Friday. Conner says Aunt Karen can we do Easter Crafts. And who am I to tell a kid no you cant do Easter crafts? He made paper versions of my yarn versions. It was his idea to make the paper versions first. I wished I took pictures of them before he took them home.
He says he can crumble up a piece of paper and make a chick and I thought I can make a pom pom out of yellow yarn and make a chick.
So I made a Pom Pom. Instructions will follow later on pom pom making.
I free formed cutting out feet and a beak out of orange craft foam. I glued them on and glued on two wiggle eyes.
Then I thought a chick needs a bunny. So I took pink and white yarn and made a larger pom pom for the body and took just pink and made a smaller pom pom for his head. I free formed cut feet and nose. I took scrap black yarn and made whiskers. I took chenille sticks and twisted them into bunny ears. I used a cotton ball to make the tail. And I got some Yarn buddies.
One problem with Yarn buddies. They are made out of Yarn.
Cat stole the chick yarn buddie. I am afriad I didnt get that on video.

A fly got in the house and the cat decided that is much more interesting then an old yarn buddy.

I will add the rest of the pictures tomorrow. It took forever to upload this picture and a picture of clay aiken that I did not want uploaded. Go figure that one. The reason I even saved the clay aiken is because I liked the layout and thought it would be neat for a scrap book page or card.

I am working on a video to upload. Believe it or not its about a cat. Isnt it obvious Cats and Yarn do go together. I tried photobucket. But it would not work. So it is you tube. Its uploading now. Its pretty cute. I edited myself so dont laugh.

Anyway I went to Cincinnati this week. I crocheted a keychain. I need to work on it though. Maybe a smaller hook. It is not tight enough. When I got a photo I will post it.

I also started working on a needle book. I knitted the outside panel with burgundy and tweed. Now I am working on the inside panel. I will attempt to make places to put the hooks.

Cat Burgler

On day .25 of my vacation, this is the most exciting thing that happened. I was robbed by a cat burgler. He stole my yarn. I didnt get video of him taking the yarn. But as you can see in the video where he tossed onto the couch and retrieved it. That is how he stole it, while I was running after him yelling STOP THIEF!

Friday Night Blog

The pink scarve..
Well I had finished it. Then I found more yarn and unbound the scarve and kept on going. Mum asked if I was knitting the scarve for the guiness book of world records. Ha ha ha. After you wrap it around it isnt all that long. I got pictures. I got a lot of pictures. I need to set up a slide show for it. I might work on this while I am on vacation. Yes vacation. I am going to cincinnati. I will be taking lots of yarn with me to play with. I am packing it up now. I am got some ideas I want to try a few bags and a key chain.
I checked out lots of books on knitting and crochet and scanning the patterns I want to keep. I love books. I loved one of the books so much I had to get it for my birthday! 100 bags to knit and crochet. It is pretty cool.
